The "Presentation of Special Economic Zones of Kazakhstan" International Forum with the participation of the Mangystau region Akim Eraly Tugzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of "KazakhInvest" JSC Birzhan Kaneshev, investors from 12 countries and general consuls of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Lithuania was held in execution of the instruction of the President of the Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev today in Aktau.

10 special economic zones were established in the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Decree of the Head of State in order to accelerate development of the regions, attract investment, technology, create highly efficient and competitive industries.

SEZ "seaport Aktau" has been functioning since 1 January 2003 with a term until January 1, 2028. SEZ "seaport Aktau" consists of six separate plots, Total area is 2000 hectares. SEZ has a special legal regime which operates according to companies acting in SEZ , they are exempt from payment of taxes and customs duties.

In turn, the Management Company regulates the activities of SEZ, the selection of enterprises that will work as participants of SEZ, also searches for and attracts investments to the territory, is the link between the world of business and government bodies and thereby ensures interaction between the enterprise and the government, being instrument of state support.

The main task of SEZ«Seaport Aktau» is to attraction of investments for development of manufacturing industry, in particular, construction industry, petro chemistry, oilfield services, transport and logistics.

From the moment of creation, 88 billion tenge was attracted to the territory of the free economic zone, the production was 241 billion tenge, 20.8 billion tenge was received in the form of taxes to the budget. 1144 permanent jobs were created.

34 companies registered in SEZ, 17 of them implemented. This year, it is planned to launch 3 more projects, in the process of implementation - 14.

Special economic zones Atyrau, Shymkent, Almaty, Taraz, Pavlodar cities were presented at the forum. The representatives of the SEZ Management Companies provided the guests of the event into the special conditions of the SEZ residents, presented successful implemented projects, shared their development experience and further plans.

Also in forum were presented one of the best implemented project in territory of SEZ «Seaport Aktau» transnational Italian company Tenaris - factory for the production of pipes with gas hermetic threaded connection of premium class.

"Under the instructions of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, there is a State program of industrial-innovative development and investment attraction is being implemented in Kazakhstan. The region has a powerful transport and logistics, tourist potential, the construction industry is developing and, first of all, it occupies leading positions in oilfield services. The development of the region's economy in these industries largely depends not only on the state of its own production, but also on the investment of domestic and foreign investments. This is facilitated by political stability, a favorable legislative and tax climate for investors", - said Akim of the Mangystau region Eraly Tugzhanov.

The guests from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, USA, Hungary and other countries, who established business contacts with domestic companies, showing their intention for further cooperation, expressed interest in the event.
