During his visit to the branch of Schlumberger in Kazakhstan, Bakytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with the technological process and new production and service capabilities of the oilfield service enterprise.

Head of Schlumberger in Kazakhstan M. Raziyev reported on the progress of digitization. He said that Schlumberger is engaged in providing services for the projects “Digital Deposit”, “I-invoicing”, “Invoicing” to such oil producing companies as Kazgermunai, Karazhanbasmunai, KNOS, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, Tengizchevroil LLC. According to M. Raziyev, in the future the enterprise intends to become a major hub providing support for the implementation of projects throughout the Caspian region.

For reference: Schlumberger is the world's leading technology provider for integrated reservoir evaluation, well construction, hydrocarbon production and processing management. The company operates in more than 85 countries around the world and employs approximately 100,000 employees of more than 140 nationalities.

The next object of the visit was the metallurgical plant of Aktau Steel LLP, located on the territory of the industrial zone and put into operation after modernization in March this year. It should be noted that the reconstruction project was implemented with attraction $22 million of foreign investments.

The Prime Minister inspected the electric steel smelting and rolling shops, where new equipment that meets world standards was installed. To date, the production capacity is 300 thousand tons of square billet and 250 thousand tons of rolled steel per year. Finished products are supplied to the domestic market, and also exported abroad.

In the course of the inspection, General Director of Aktau Steel LLP R. Mirzayev reported that at present there are about 150 employers at the enterprise. At the same time, after the plant's output at full capacity, the number of jobs will double.

For reference: For January-April, investments in fixed assets of Mangistau region amounted to 131 billion tenge. The volume of industrial production for the same period last year amounted to 910 billion tenge. The volume index is 101.5 percent of the corresponding period of 2017. In mining and quarrying, which accounts for 85.9 percent of the total output of industrial products, the volume of production amounted to 781.9 billion tenge, volume index — 101.6 percent. In the processing industry (the share of the industry — 8.6 percent) for the reporting period, the output was 78.5 billion tenge, volume index was 112.2 percent.

Growth is noted in the production of other non-metallic mineral products — by 14.5%, finished metal products, except machinery and equipment — 2.6 times, rubber and plastic products — 1.8 times, leather products — 1.2 times.
