Today, management of Aktau Seaport Special Economic Zone organized press tour for journalists across facilities located in SEZ Aktau Seaport.

During the press tour journalists visited facilities under construction including food storing facilities for Azersun Logistics and Production Center LLP, plant for oilfield casing and tubular goods of Kazakhstan Pipe Threaders LLP and the project related to north expansion of Aktau Seaport – Aktau North Marine Terminal LLP. Along with that, the delegation stopped at the production plant for innovative construction materials Caspiy Tas Zhol LLP, manufacturer of reinforced concrete structures and slabs KIS-Aktau LLP and producer of fiberglass pipes AZST LLP. According to Chairman of the Board of SEZ Aktau Seaport JSC Tulegenov A.B ‘28 investment projects are currently being implemented in SEZ Aktau Seaport; 9 of them are already functioning; 7 others are under construction and installation, 11 projects are at the stage of design development and pre-construction activities. The volume of produced items at the area of SEZ Aktau Seaport exceeded 225 billion tenge as of today, total amount of investments is 400 billion tenge, and the number of created jobs reached 1000. 7 million tenge of governmental funds were spent for infrastructure development, and over 19 billion tenge already returned as taxes. The project is already fully paid off’ - Mr. Tulegenov said.

Azersun Logistics and Production center LLP is planning to provide services of food storage in subzone 3 of SEZ Aktau Seaport. Foreign share in the project is 100% and presented by Anadolu Investment Company LLC, the Republic of Azerbajan. At present construction of the project facilities is at the stage of completion; start up is scheduled for November 2015. Cost of the project is 3.5 billion tenge and it is assumed 40 new permanent jobs will be created. As a result of the project domestic market will be supplied with high quality food products. It will also contribute to import substitution and resolve some social issue by creating new jobs. 

Caspiy Tas Zhol LLP began their operations in Aktau Seaport SEZ in 2014, the project was launched in December 2014. At the present time the plant specializes in production of coarse and fine-graded asphalt concrete and black crushed stone. Investment volume is 210 million tenge, 20 new jobs are created, the value of the produced items amounts to 559 million tenge.

KIS Aktau LLP was created to support governmental program Affordable Housing – 2020. Project was started in December 2014. The plant produces slabs, columns, girders, beams, slab plates, diaphragm plates, elevator shafts, partition walls, stairways and vent ducts. The value of produced items is 352 million tenge and 80 new jobs are created. The project cost is 600 million tenge.

Kazakhstan Pipe Threaders LLP is implemented with 100% foreign partnership, on behalf of the world leader in manufacturing and supply of oil and gas equipment – Tenaris Global Services, Italy. The project implies foundation of the plant in SEZ Aktau Seaport for production of pipes with premium fittings. The project cost is 7.2 billion tenge; 100 new jobs are created. As of today construction is ongoing with completion date planned for the end of this year. Full operation start-up is expected in January, 2016.

AZST LLP started its activity in SEZ Aktau Seaport in 2004; it is one of the first registered enterprises in the area. The plant specializes in production of fiberglass pipes. Total value of produced items amounts to 4 billion tenge. Investment volume is 8.4 billion tenge; 35 people are occupied in the plant operations.

Aktau North Marine Terminal LLP, the project implies north expansion of Aktau Seaport through construction of two dry-cargo berths, one grain terminal and associated infrastructure with the total capacity of 2.5 – 3.0 million tons per year. The project is stipulated by increase of cargo volume in Aktau Seaport which operation capacity neared to its design capacity. In this context, future growth of freight traffic in this direction should be associated with essential and timely creation of relevant port infrastructure which will allow supporting sea port services for increasing volume of cargoes in compliance with international standards.

Currently construction is ongoing in the area which is due to be completed by the end of this year. The project will be executed by phases with the first phase to be commissioned in December 2015 and the second phase planned by the end of 2016. Project cost amounts to 27 billion tenge; during operations 200 jobs will be created. The project also includes foreign partnership represented by Singapore company Inter Port Development Pte.
