Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that Almaty with its thousands of years of history turned into one of the most beautiful cities of sports fans within two weeks.

As a result of past events, Kazakhstan took the second place, winning 11 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze medals.

Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev noted that such high achievements in sport, Kazakhstan has achieved thanks to the policy of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan thanked the Head of State of all those present at the ceremony guests.

Also Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that worthy performance of Kazakhstan sportsmen is the result of their hard work, teamwork and team coaches.

Reference: 28th World Winter Universiade was held in Almaty from January 29 to February 8, 2017. The program of the Winter Universiade consists of 12 sports: figure skating, short track, alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross country skiing, ice hockey (men, women), curling, ski jumping, Nordic combined, speed skating, freestyle . The competition was attended by about 2 thousand athletes. About 30 thousand domestic and foreign tourists arrived in Almaty during the Universiade.
