In November 30, in Astana, the conference “Kazakhstan: new investment opportunities” was held, organized by the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and “National Agency for Export and Investment “KAZNEX INVEST”, JSC. At the conference, events were held, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan: investment forum with the participation of potential and existing foreign investors, a single exhibition of investment projects and the awarding of foreign investors for their contribution to the economic development of Kazakhstan. Before the conference, there was a meeting of the Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kasymbek, with representatives of foreign business in order to familiarize the foreign companies with investment potential of our country.

As is known, Kazakhstan's President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, pays great attention to the issue of creating an enabling environment for attracting foreign investments into the country for the purpose of development of trade-economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and other countries. To achieve this purpose, the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan is constantly working on building relationships and securing cooperation with foreign business, which has been successfully carried out in the framework of the conference.

Conference was opened by Minister of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kasymbek. Welcoming the participants, the Minister said that the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan considered the holding of this conference as an important event in the business life of our state. This is a unique opportunity for dialogue and direct contacts between political and business circles of different countries. Currently, we consider our meeting as an effective way to promote the investment potential of our country.

In total, the conference was attended by about 300 people from more than 100 local and foreign companies from the sphere of agriculture, public-private partnerships, mining and metallurgical complex, energy, oil and gas and banking sectors, information and communication technologies, innovations, transport and logistics, food industry, chemical industry, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, medicine and tourism. Great interest in the conference was shown by representatives of state bodies (line ministries, Akimats), as well as heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states in the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign business associations.

The conference provided the annual awards of foreign investors who have contributed to the industrialization of Kazakhstan, expansion of investment and the development of high-tech industries. Awards from the Ministry of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan were obtained the following companies: a joint venture to develop and operate of the Karachaganak oil and gas field "KPO", an Italian manufacturer of pipe products “Tenaris”, a Japanese company for the extraction and processing of uranium “Marubeni Corporation”, a German manufacturer of constructional materials “HeidelbergCement”, a South Korean company engaged in the development of environmentally friendly types of fuel “KOLON”, a Russian producer of fats “EFKO”, a Chinese Pharmaceutical Company Kelun Kazpharm, a Turkish company producing confectionery “Pladis”, known in Kazakhstan as ULKER. There have also been awarded the “European Bank for Reconstruction and Development” for investment activities in the development of Kazakhstan’s economy and Association “Kazakhstan Council of Foreign Investors” for its contribution to the strengthening of the dialogue between government and foreign investors.

At the conference, the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the single exhibition of industrial and innovative projects, whose main purpose is to present the Kazakhstan projects in various sectors of the economy to potential foreign investors. The 70 Kazakh companies and entrepreneurs took part in the exhibition.
