ASTANA READY TO HOST EXPO-2017 - A.ISSEKESHEV

 According to A.Issekeshev, Astana is ready to receive and accommodate more than 2 million tourists. A total of 35 thousand beds were prepared. A reservation department has been established under the mayor’s office, working with the regions. Visitors from 10 regions of our country have already reserved seats.

The mayor noted that it is necessary to have 110 thousand seats in order to feed all visitors to the capital.

"At present, we have 850 food outlets. They will provide up to 100 thousand seats. The emphasis is on the development of different cuisines: Chinese, European, Far Eastern, Russian," said the mayor.

According to the forecasts of the mayor’s office, the consumption of products during the international exhibition will grow by 20-30% and will be 160 thousand tons in three months.

"We have approved the schedule of fairs from the regions. We will ensure a stable supply of 30 product types of products, because there is a risk of a deficit and rise in price," the mayor noted.

Cultural and sporting events are also formed in detail.

In addition to volunteers of national companies, a group of 1,000 city volunteers who speak different languages ​​to meet guests from the airport and railway stations has been established.

In addition, the mayor’s office prepared and launched 8 information kiosks, instructions for tourists, developed tourist routes.

A.Issekeshev noted that the new terminal of the airport and the railway station will be introduced on time. The Ministry of Investment and Development worked out all additional trains, flights within the open sky. The buses were bought with the support of the Government.

"110 buses are allocated for international delegations, 167 for seven shuttle bus routes - these will be special express trains that will directly bring visitors to the Expo from the mass accommodation sites. The service of the automatic taxi has been created," the mayor of Astana informed.

About 6 thousand parking spaces were created on the territory of the Expo. Considering that 12,000 cars are expected on peak days, 6,000 parking spaces will be prepared in the near future at the EXPO and 2,500 in the city.

For security purposes, 3000 video cameras will be installed in different parts of the city.

7 medical posts will be created on the territory of the Expo, and medical posts will be opened in the accommodation areas of the guests. At the same time, all medical staff is fluent in English.

According to the mayor of the capital, today, around the clock, works on patching roads, applying road markings, information signs, fountain complexes, small architectural forms, planting trees along the road from the airport are carried out.

The reconstruction of the Atameken ethno-memorial complex, Baiterek Monuments, Mangilik El will be completed soon.

A.Issekeshev noted that the capital has already felt a powerful effect from EXPO.

"For enterprises, EXPO has become a real safety cushion in the crisis period," he said.

It is expected that even after the exhibition, the complex will be a large-scale center of innovation and technological development, not only for the capital, but for the whole country.
