KAZAKHSTAN AND FRANCE INTEND TO INCREASE THE VOLUME OF BILATERAL INVESTMENTS AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

On April 26 this year, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between the investment Committee of the Ministry of investment and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the chamber of Commerce of France-Kazakhstan within the forum "France-Kazakhstan: 10 years of strategic partnership". 

The parties expect that the Memorandum will become an important mechanism to improve the competitiveness of business and the Republic of Kazakhstan and the French Republic, which will create a basis for the development of close commercial ties and increase the volume of bilateral investment and technology transfer. 

Within the framework of the document, it is planned to exchange information on the provision of state support to investments for the implementation of investment projects and international trade, including information on potential business partners (companies in Kazakhstan and France), analytical reviews, the results of market research, as well as information on state regulatory measures. 

The parties also agreed to cooperate in the priority areas of economic policy of the two countries. The priority sectors of the economy, the development of which will be directed mutual efforts, have been pre-determined. The priority sectors include: food production, pharmaceuticals, paper and paper products, computers, electronic and optical products, vehicles, as well as activities in the field of health, education, metallurgy, agriculture, innovation and IT-technology, tourism, production of chemical products, mechanical engineering, production of building materials, oil, gas and others.
