During the talks, preliminary results of the implementation of the agreements, reached at the highest level, were discussed during the official visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the UAE on 15-16 January 2017, including the development and launch of joint investment projects in key areas of cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the construction of an oil and gas chemical complex with a capacity of 800 thousand tons per year of polypropylene in Atyrau region, taking into account the attraction of a strategic foreign investor and the transfer of advanced European technologies in the petrochemical industry from the UAE.

The participation of the National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and the National Railway Company "Etihad Rail" (UAE) in the implementation of joint infrastructure projects in the territory of the Emirates was considered in the transport and logistics sphere. The project for the construction of a 406 km long railway with a gauge of 1435 mm, which will link the developing cities and industrial zones of Abu Dhabi and Dubai to the border of Saudi Arabia, is considered. In addition, the issue of joint development of the airport infrastructure in Kazakhstan with Abu Dhabi Airports Corporation (ADAC) was discussed.

The readiness to create a joint Kazakhstan-Emirates investment fund in the near future between JSC NUKH Baiterek and state investment company Mubadala Investment Company with a total authorized capital of 500 million dollars in equal shares, with a subsequent increase billions  dollars was confirmed in the financial sphere.

The cooperation between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Corporation for Atomic Energy (ENEC) and JSC "NAC" Kazatomprom "in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy was considered. It is planned to meet the needs of the raw material component from Kazakhstan, both in the form of natural uranium and in the form of enriched uranium product, being built and planned for the construction of reactors in the UAE.

Following the results of the talks, the Emirate expressed satisfaction with the process of promoting joint projects on priority areas of cooperation, noting Kazakhstan's initiative to holdKazakhstan-UAE Business Forum in Astana on May 22 this year.
