Today, August 12, Akim of the Mangystau Region Nurdaulet Kilybay visited the Aktau Seaport Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as part of a working trip to review the progress of major investment projects in the industrial and logistics sectors.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to the pace of construction, compliance with project deadlines, the quality of ongoing works, and prospects for commissioning new production facilities.
One of the key projects is the Caspian Pipe Plant LLP facility for the production of steel pipes and metal products.
Total investment in the project amounts to KZT 25.7 billion. Once the plant reaches its design capacity, it is expected to produce up to 55,000 tonnes of pipes annually. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2027.
Construction work currently includes the installation of steel structures and sandwich panels for the production workshop, concreting of foundations for technological equipment, as well as electrical and engineering works. Part of the required production equipment has already been delivered to the site.
The launch of the plant will contribute to expanding the region’s industrial base, increasing domestic production, and creating new jobs in the manufacturing sector.
As part of his working trip, the regional Akim also reviewed the operations of the Eurasia Supply Chain Aktau LLP logistics base.
The logistics complex has been developed within the Aktau Seaport SEZ on a 22.7-hectare site, with total investment amounting to KZT 10 billion. The facility has the capacity to store up to 5,000 twenty-foot shipping containers at a time. It also operates a customs transit warehouse and an international container terminal.
The project is of strategic importance for strengthening Mangystau’s transport and logistics potential and developing international freight corridors. Its primary objective is to establish an efficient logistics link between East Asia and Europe via the Caspian region.
At the initial stage, the logistics network will cover Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Azerbaijan. It is subsequently expected to expand to Belarus, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Iraq. In the medium and long term, the network is planned to enter Eastern and Southern European markets, including Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine. The facility was commissioned in March 2026.
Following the site visits, Nurdaulet Kilybay instructed the responsible parties to ensure that construction works are completed within the established deadlines, maintain the current pace of project implementation, and pay particular attention to the quality of the works. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the efficient launch and operation of the new production and logistics facilities upon completion of construction.
The development of the Aktau Seaport SEZ is one of the key priorities for strengthening the industrial, transit, and logistics potential of the Mangystau Region. The implementation of new investment projects is creating opportunities to increase production, expand international transport links, attract investment, and generate employment.
