The meeting discussed a package of legislative initiatives on improvement of Kazakhstan's positions in "Doing Business" ranking.

These amendments to the existing legislation were developed in the end of 2016 taking into account the proposals of state bodies, domestic and international experts, the business community of the country.

Background: the draft proposed amendments to 6 codes and 15 laws, which include amendments on 9 indicators of "Doing Business" ranking: "Registration of ownership", "Open enterprises", "contracts", "Getting credit", "Protecting investors", "Resolving insolvency", "Obtaining construction permits, Connection to electricity", "Taxation".
