Expanding the relationship between the Mangystau region and the Lithuanian cities were discussed during the bilateral meeting.

"Opening of the official representative office of the Republic of Lithuania in the city of Aktau will give a new impetus to the activation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Mangystau and the Lithuanian business community. The turnover between the region and Lithuania amounted to 35 million US dollars in 2016. I am confident that this figure will increase several times in the future. Today, we face the task of accelerating the development of tourism and agriculture, expanding transport logistics. I am confident that Lithuanian businessmen will be interested in these areas", - Eraly Tugzhanov, Akim of the Mangystau region, said.

Marat Ormanov was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in the Mangystau region.

"The world again meets on the Great Silk Road - the path of the future and Aktau at the crossroads of this path. Today, the cooperation of the Republic of Lithuania and the Mangystau region goes in different directions: from the delivery of cheeses to stores to construction materials. Huge reserves are in the development of logistics and tourism. The opening of the representative office and the appointment of a consul in the Mangystau region will serve as a strong bridge in strengthening trade, economic and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Lithuania", - said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan Vitautas Nauduzas.

The representation of the Republic of Lithuania is located in the building of "NMSK "Kazmortransflot" Business Center.
