Career 

Zhumabai Karagayev has 22 years of work experience in public service and in the private sector. Over the years, he headed a number of private companies in Atyrau and Mangystau regions, the Department of Housing and Communal Services, passenger transport and highways of Atyrau Akimat.

He worked as deputy akim of Atyrau city. He held the position of Head of the Department of Public Procurement of Atyrau region, Head of the Department of Energy and Housing of Atyrau region. He held the position of akim of Makat district of Atyrau region and deputy akim of Atyrau region.

From December 2019 to January 2022 - Vice Minister of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Currently, he is the First Deputy Akim of the Mangystau region.
