As part of the President’s directives on developing transport infrastructure and strengthening transit potential in the Mangystau region, plans are underway to build a new seaport. The strategic partner for the project is the Chinese conglomerate Zhongyun International. This was reported by regional akim Nurdaulet Kylybay at a Government meeting.
According to him, the investment project is valued at $300 million. At this stage, the investor has already registered a company in the region and is preparing documents for signing the Investment Agreement.
“The project will contribute to the formation of a new international transport corridor — China – Kazakhstan – Aktau – Baku – Poti – Europe. Its implementation will reduce cargo delivery times by 7–15 days, cut transportation costs by 18–25%, and create new jobs,” Nurdaulet Kylybay noted.
