A
new production facility for water purification filters has been
launched in Aktau, on the territory of the “Aktau Seaport” Special
Economic Zone (SEZ). The project aims to substitute imports and increase
the share of domestically produced goods.
The
project is being implemented by Aqua Filter LLP. The new facility is
one of the significant initiatives for the region. It is aimed at the
efficient use of water resources and expanding access to high-quality
drinking water for the population.
The
enterprise’s annual production capacity amounts to 160,000 filter
elements. The project cost is 100 million tenge, while the projected
annual output value is expected to reach 617.5 million tenge.
The filter elements are used in household applications, healthcare, and the oil and gas industry.
Currently,
more than 15 local residents are employed at the enterprise. The main
raw materials used in production are domestically sourced. Polymer
granules are supplied from Atyrau and processed in Aktau.
According
to the head of Aqua Filter LLP, Amangeldy Taskymbayev, favorable
conditions have been created for enterprises in the special economic
zone.
— “We
are seeing the results of the President’s policy aimed at supporting
domestic producers and creating comfortable conditions for investors.
The SEZ provides a range of tax incentives. Today, our enterprise is the
only producer of water filter elements in the region. Our capacity
allows us to produce more than 4,000 units per day,” he said.
In the future, the company plans to increase production volumes.
It
is also noted that 16 investment projects worth a total of 158.6
billion tenge are planned to be launched this year. This will create
about 1,800 new jobs. Construction and installation work is currently
underway at industrial, logistics, tourism, and infrastructure
facilities, while necessary production equipment is being gradually
delivered.
