The parties also discussed a project to launch a regular ferry service along the Kuryk–Alat (Azerbaijan) route across the Caspian Sea. As part of the initiative implemented by the “Georgian Industrial Group,” two ferries are planned to be commissioned in the first half of 2026, with the fleet expanding to six vessels by 2027. The project is expected to increase cargo flows across the Caspian Sea and enhance the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
Ambassador Levan Diasamidze expressed Georgia’s interest in developing cooperation with the Mangystau region in the fields of transport, logistics, and tourism.
For reference, the external trade turnover between Mangystau Region and Georgia reached 1.9 million USD from January to October 2025. The region is home to 51 enterprises with Georgian capital.
