Zhanaozen Becomes a New Industrial Site of the SEZ “Seaport Aktau”

The territory of the Special Economic Zone “Seaport Aktau” has been expanded and now comprises 15 subzones. Two of them are located in the city of Zhanaozen, one of which is the Zhanaozen industrial zone. Three investment projects aimed at developing the region’s industrial potential are being implemented on a total area of 280 hectares.

In particular, Kaskor-Mashzavod LLP has launched a project for the production of tubing pipes and sucker rods for the oil and gas industry. The plant’s production capacity allows for the manufacture of up to 540,000 sucker rods and 51,000 tonnes of pipes per year. Once full capacity is reached, 250 new jobs will be created. Recruitment and training of personnel are currently underway. The total investment amounts to KZT 17.3 billion.

In addition, a project for the production of asphalt concrete mix is being implemented in Zhanaozen. The production facility, located on a 5-hectare site, will create 15 jobs and will focus on meeting the needs of the road construction and infrastructure sectors. The project cost is KZT 300 million.

Another project is aimed at the production of polyethylene pipes and pipe lining used in the oil and gas industry. The enterprise, occupying an area of 3 hectares, will provide permanent employment for 50 people after commissioning. The volume of investments amounts to KZT 12 billion.

Thus, the 14th subzone is becoming one of the key centers for the development of the engineering and oilfield services industries in the city of Zhanaozen. The projects being implemented contribute to job creation, economic growth of the city, increased tax revenues, and strengthening of the region’s industrial potential.

It should be noted that in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 5, 2025, the territory of the SEZ “Seaport Aktau” was expanded by incorporating land from the Kendirli resort area. As a result, the total area of the special economic zone reached 9,814 hectares. Today, the SEZ includes 15 subzones of industrial, port, logistics, and tourism focus.

The main objective of the special economic zone is to ensure stable employment for the population. To this end, investors are attracted, favorable conditions are created for launching new production facilities, and entrepreneurs are provided with infrastructure and administrative support. Work in this area will be continued on a systematic basis in the future.
